It is with great pleasure that TRIO Student Support Services, New Dimensions in Learning (NDIL) announces scholarship winners from two distinguished TRIO members/Advantage Iowa Scholars affiliated with The Center for Diversity & Enrichment.

Nghia Tran has been awarded the McNair Scholarship. This Scholars Program prepares undergraduate students for future graduate study leading to the Ph.D. degree.
Nghia is a Chemical Engineering major from Des Moines, Iowa. Nghia has been actively involved in TRIO since he was a high school student involved in Upward Bound at Simpson College. Nghia is completing his second year at Iowa. Nghia has shown much promise as an exceptionally successful student and an active campus participant. Nghia was also on the Dean's list his first two years and has been a member of the Honors program, in addition to a number of other achievements. Congratulations, Nghia!
Jackie Herzberg has been awarded the George S. Schaeffer Scholarship for 2009-2010 academic year. Jackie is an Integrative Physiology (pre-med) major from Villisca, Iowa. Jackie also is completing her second year at Iowa. She has been an active TRIO member who has worked as a chemistry tutor for NDIL since her freshman year.
Jackie was also awarded a summer internship during a conference sponsored by TRIO at The Midwest Area Educational Opportunities Program Personnel. Jackie has been on the Dean's list since her freshman year and on the President's list since last semester. Jackie is also a member of the Honors program, in addition to a host of other achievements.
